My order is marked as delivered by the carrier but I don’t have it. What can I do?

File a claim with the carrier.  We take responsibility for shipping your order correctly, but not for its time with the carrier or after delivery to your address.

Where do you ship?

Within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

When will my order ship?

We ship orders Monday through Friday and do our best to ship all orders within 1-2 business days.  We ship all miso to arrive within two days - if you order miso late in the week, we may decide to ship it the following Monday to avoid a weekend hang.

Why two days for the miso?

Miso is not perishable, but it’s also not shelf stable.  A long travel time will risk a loss of quality.

We ship the miso cold & insulated - it may arrive at room temperature or with some pressure inside the jar.  Occasionally the pressure inside the jar will push some miso ‘juice’ out. This is fine and does not indicate spoilage or damage.

Please be aware of your package’s delivery and refrigerate the miso as soon as possible.

We are not able to ship to P.O. Boxes through any service except USPS. Priority Mail does not guarantee timely delivery. we prefer to ship any cold storage items via UPS or FedEx Express. Please be aware that if you supply a P.O. Box for your address your refrigerated items will be safe, but there is an increased likelihood of pressure building in jar and leakage due to longer transit time.

We do not offer replacements for items not refrigerated on arrival, or leakage. Any broken jars must be reported within 24 hours of arrival for replacement, please include photo of shipment damage.

How long is it good for?

Once the vinegar and miso have safely made it to you and are stored properly, they will last indefinitely.

I didn’t refrigerate my vinegar, is it okay?

We recommend refrigeration for the vinegar to maintain quality over the long-term.  The flavor and appearance of the vinegar will last for years in cold storage, but may degrade slowly from exposure to light and temperature changes. Additionally, the vinegar can eventually form a new ‘mother’ in the bottle at room temperature.  This is generally unwelcome and can be avoided with refrigeration.
